Uk challenger 1934
Oggi vi mostro il mio ultimo lavoro iniziato il 23\10\2008 e ultimato il 5\07\2009,si tratta di un modello inerente l’edizione del 1934 dell’America’s cup.
Prima di mostrarvi dei documenti fotografici ricostruenti le varie fasi di lavorazione vi vorrei dare dei cenni storici su questa imbarcazione che all’epoca era un gioiello tecnologico e dotato di attrezzature innovative per quanto riguarda la navigazione a vela.
Vincendo le due prime prove della coppa America del 1934,la goletta ENDEAVOUR aveva messo una seria ipoteca on the cup.

Fate did not allow the pilot to Sir Thomas Sopwith to win the America's Cup.
Sir Thomas Octave Murdoch Sopwith was an aeronautics engineer who had designed an aircraft during the Second World War, from which the most famous was the Sopwith Camel.
Sopwith had not approached the America's Cup x case.
Between 1927 and 1930 had participated in numerous competitions, winning, among other edition of the championship 12-meter yacht, England. In 1934 Sopwith
Endeavour is launched immediately sailed to the United States for the challenge brought to the America's Cup, against RAINBOW. ENDEAVOUR
designed by Charles Nicholson, the same designer
SHAMROCK V, measured 25 feet at the waterline, was equipped with 4-speed winches and was equipped with a bow square, thoroughly tested in wind tunnels and a huge spinnaker.
These historical data are the source of the manufacturer of the design (AMAT).
MATERIALS AND DIMENSIONS
start with the order, the frames that structure the pattern are all 24 in strict cut and shaped by hand, always following the drawing, the wood used to extract the frames and birch plywood 05 mm.
The structure consists of longitudinal stringers also always in birch plywood 05 mm x build and share profits la chiglia.
La base della coperta e di compensato di betulla di mm 01 poi rivestita in seguito da listelli in teak.
Il fasciame e composto da listelli di tiglio da mm 1.5 x 5.
La verniciatura dello scafo e fatta con aerografo e le linee sono frutto di una doppia verniciatura il bianco come base e il blu come tinta a finire.
I casseri e le casupole di coperta sono in noce.
Le fotoincisioni in ottone fanno parte del kit AMATI inerente al modello prodotto.
L’albero e il boma sono completamente costruiti a mano (vedi foto),l’albero parte da un diametro di mm15 e finisce a mm 0.5 su una lunghezza totale di mm1046, il legno usato x la costruzione dell’albero e ramino,il boma e costruito in faggio.
Tutte le attrezzature di coperta in ottone fanno parte del kit ( AMATI).
Il modello e costruito in scala 1:35 e lungo cm 115 ed e alto all’incirca 170 cm.
Si possono costruire anche altri modelli dell’America’c Cup con dimensioni differenti,i modelli sono :
