It is the second half of the 70 '. Although the church has undergone more maintenance since then, however, has not changed much.

The first stone was laid on the first Sunday of September 1885. The work was started on 1 January 1886. It was consecrated in 1902.

The Purgatory Church is very ancient, it seems it was built before 1600, however, has undergone so many alterations that already Buccellato Galatioto in his monograph he lamented the devastation.
